There is ancient knowledge engraved in iron, handed down from mother to daughter…
Knowledge that feels like home, at the crossroads where tradition meets love…
From tradition
In Abruzzo (and Molise), for centuries there has been an object that embodies a story of love and identity: “lu ferre”, the mould for ferratella. This iron, often kept as a family treasure, was brought as a dowry by women and had the initials of the future bride engraved in the centre. It was more than just a kitchen utensil: it was a gift, a symbol of unity and family belonging, a token of love.
The term ferratella derives from this special iron, called lu ferre or lu ferre ‘ojo in dialect, which, when heated over a fire, imprinted a decorative grid pattern on the wafer, unique to each family.
Each design told a different story, a web of symbols that crossed iron and time. It is in this intertwining of stories and symbols that Present’Osa finds its essence.
The essence of Present’Osa
We have taken the beauty of the presentosa, the ancient Abruzzese jewel that lovers exchanged as a wedding token and fused it with the sweetness of the ferratella. The design of the presentosa has become the print on our ferratella, transforming each sweet into a little jewel to be savoured.
Thus, two ancient traditions, the gift of love and the gift of home, come together in a single creation.
Present’Osa is our way of paying tribute to the memory of families and the beauty of sharing.
It is the flavour of an ancient gesture that comes back to life in the present, with the same warmth and passion as in the past.
Because true love – the kind that stands the test of time, that is renewed and passed on – is the sweetest and most sincere.
Present’Osa: a jewel, a promise, a gift and a taste of what it means to go beyond.
“Dare to act, love to share.”
